Not a Friday but a motivational post to inspire the week ahead!
Please share and pin if you want!
So amazing to see one of my prints in the newsletter yesterday!
I subscribed to the newsletter because I thought the people that were chosen for the theme were so talented and had amazing photos so I created and improved my photos over and over again. I still don’t think I have amazing photos but it is incredible that someone at Etsy thinks I have a good enough product to feature in the newsletter!
What a lovely end to the week – how has your week been?
Last Sunday I had my second Le Boulevard Boutique Market at the Westwaters Entertainment Complex in Caroline Springs.
I was a little nervous as I had to go by myself and carry all my stuff!
I met some very nice stall holders but ultimately I didn’t make any sales from the general public. It really made me think whether my products are worth pursuing.
I would like to try other markets but I want to take a step back and get into creating a bit more; I’ve already got some great ideas!
What makes you take a step back to re-evaluate things?
I still can’t believe it!
Yesterday after a normal day working I came home and found my Geometric Abstract Art Print featured on a list curated by the Etsy Australia and New Zealand team.
I was looking at the list earlier in the day and thinking what amazing artists are included – some of which I have met and some who inspire me to keep going.
Check out the link below for the full list!

I have another market coming up!
I have researched a few different ones but I am not wanting to be at a different market every weekend. I’d like to pick special markets where people can come to meet me and my products. I am very excited to meet new people and hopefully some who went last time!
Check out their website for more details!
A new year has started – and I haven’t done a blog post because I had some time to think about priorities.
Inspiration Fridays are on a hiatus at the moment because I felt pressure to do a post every week even when I didn’t feel like it. And that didn’t help my creativity at all.
I am taking things as they come this year but my plan is to produce more work and possibly dip into custom work.
Did you have any resolutions over the holidays ? I would love to hear them
Meanwhile I will leave you with this new inspiration quote.. Who have you decided to be this year?
Wow what a year – my first year in business.
I am really proud of myself.
I am amazed at the new things and new people I have met along the way.
I am so hopeful for next year and have great plans to improve / expand and keep creating. I see most people are closing their online shops for a break but I am keeping mine open hoping for holiday shoppers who have time spare!
I wish you all the best for Christmas / New Year. I won’t be posting here until next year to give myself some creating time.
I will leave you with this final inspiration friday for the year
I sent in this fast 5 interview a couple of months ago and today it just got published!
I am so excited to see my pictures on a magazines website
It’s a fast 5 for a reason – the answers are really short so go on and have a look
So this year is coming to an end.
What a year – I started without a business and now I am on my way to realising my dream.
I read somewhere that by writing down goals it makes it easier to achieve and I can look back next year to see if I have met my goals.
I have a business review in March (My one year since I have started) and it will be very interesting to see how I can improve.
Enough talk – here are my goals:
- 400 likers on facebook. Now likers are one thing but I want people who are genuinely interested in my work.
- Find target market hangouts and connect. Finding a sellers page is great to help with running my store but I need to find where the buyers are!. I need to connect to retailers, blogs or facebook pages and let them know who I am.
- 25 Sales on madeit/ Etsy.
- Research and attend different markets to see where my products fit in.
- Add other product ranges / build portfolio of work
- Keep improving photos
I think I am pretty happy with those goals for the moment – do you have any goals? Any suggestions for me? I would love to hear from you all!
